I'm super excited to part today's ship service alongside yous ... for two fun reasons.  First, because this super moist too super flavorful Poppy Seed Tea Bread is ane of my absolute favorite quick breads.  And second, because I larn to denote a fabulous novel partnership betwixt too cherryBLOX!

Let's speak Poppy Seed Tea Bread first.  Okey-doke?

This breadstuff is genuinely ane of my all-time favorite quick breads.  Usually alongside poppy seed 'stuff,' nosotros think lemon poppy seed.  Not hence alongside this poppy seed 'stuff' ... this poppy seed breadstuff gets it's absolutely wonderful flavour from almond extract instead.

And the almond flavour is soooooooo good.  

And too hence it gets an extra jounce of moistness from a citrus-sugar glaze made alongside freshly-squeezed orangish juice.


The glaze sinks into the overstep of the bread, making the overstep extra moist too extra flavorful.  And oh, I love it.

Glazed Poppy Seed Tea Bread

Ingredients
Bread:
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. + 2 T. canola oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp. imitation butter flavoring
  • 2 T. poppy seeds
Glaze:
  • 1/4 c. freshly squeezed orangish juice (about 1 orange)
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp. canola oil

Directions
  1. PREPARE THE BREAD: Place all breadstuff ingredients inwards a large mixing bowl. Blend alongside an electrical mixer until good mixed, almost 2 minutes.
  2. Spoon batter into 2 greased loaf pans, dividing the batter evenly betwixt the pans. Bake at 325 degrees until a cake tester inserted inwards the pump comes out clean, almost 1 hour.
  3. PREPARE THE GLAZE: While the breadstuff is baking, hit the glaze. Combine all glaze ingredients inwards a pocket-size saucepan; rut over medium heat, stirring frequently, until saccharide melts.
  4. When done, take breadstuff from the oven too cool inwards the pan for five minutes. Remove from the pan too house on a cooling rack. Immediately prick the tops of the breads alongside a fork, too spoon the warm glaze over the overstep of each loaf. Let cool completely.
